Research Study: Comparison of Weight-Loss Diets with Different Compositions of Fat, Protein, and Carbohydrates
This study examines the impacts of different levels of proteins, carbohydrates and fats in diets, to weight loss. This study would analyze how people lose weight when they undergo diets with different compositions of these three macronutrients. This study was conducted across a group of 811 obese adults who were assigned 4 different diets. They were on these diets for a period of 2 years, during which they underwent several individual and group sessions. The results conclude that regardless of which macronutrient is emphasized on, a reduced calorie diet is the only one that results in clinically significant weight loss.
